Internship Program

Sapulpa Equine Hospital welcomes inquiries regarding an internship for graduates of an accredited veterinary program that are hard working and willing to learn.  The internship is a salaried position and will start July 1 and end June 30 the following year.  Sapulpa Equine Hospital has veterinarians with over 80 years of experience in veterinary medicine and advanced training in equine surgery and internal medicine.

The internship is primarily designed to provide the intern with a sound skill level and knowledge base to enter private practice.

An internship should be a learning experience that allows you to further develop your skills and knowledge of veterinary medicine.  The purpose of the internship is to prepare you for your future endeavors in equine medicine, and not for you to serve as a technician or an emergency clinician.  You will be closely mentored by the doctors during the transitional phase.

When the veterinarians feel that you are adequately prepared, you will be allowed to practice independently, and share emergency duty equally with the other veterinarians.  You will also be asked to assist with surgeries and medicine cases.  During your internship you will be encouraged to take an active role in case management and become involved in journal club.

Benefits include competitive salary, health insurance, professional liability insurance, one week paid vacation, and a stipend to attend one approved veterinary conference.  You will also be equipped with your own practice vehicle, equipment and supplies.
